GO Outdoors have recently announced the winner of their 2016 awards for the outdoor industry which includes the title of Best Outdoor Blog.
Fiona Outdoors, written by Fiona Russell, focussing on her favourite activities including running, cycling and walking in rural Scotland, was awarded this year’s title having produced a series of articles and videos documenting her experiences and encouraging others to give it a try.
Brandon Egley from GO Outdoors said that “Fiona Outdoors was a deserved winner in the 2016 GO Outdoors Blog Awards having produced some wonderful content. She doesn’t just write about a weekend away, she provides useful tips and advice for others to try out and to experience life outside for themselves. Fiona received more than 22 per cent of the public vote and she’s a deserved winner.
One of our own Outdoor Blogger members, Shell Robshaw-Bryan from Camping With Style, followed very close behind with 2nd place. In response to receiving the prize, Shell told Go Outdoors, “With so many other amazing blogs making the final shortlist, we were already really chuffed to get through to the final stage, so finding out we are the 2016 runner up is absolutely wonderful news!

Being a runner-up in the Go Outdoors 2016 Awards is fabulous, and it’s really nice to get some recognition for all the hard work we put into the blog.”

Outdoor Bloggers organiser, Jenni Tulip from The Thrifty Magpies Nest and Outdoor Bloggers member Clare, with her blog Mud and Nettles, both made the final shortlist for the award.
Celebrating our common passion for the outdoors and encouraging our readers to get out and enjoy it for themselves is why we are here. Having several of our members acknowledged and awarded by a big brand such as GO Outdoors who help us to raise awareness of blogging and getting outdoors is a fantastic.
